Regarding the Roberto Alagna recording, Duncan Miller (Vulcan Cylinders) did the recording - so I suppose he used his own wax supplies.

When I was in England a few years ago recording for Vulcan, Duncan told me he had made that Alagna recording.

Duncan starts talking first and can be seen at 0:47 while cranking the weight-driven recording lathe. To what I recall, they had some old stock blanks to be used.
