Ok. It's what I figured and I am okay with that valuation.

I only paid $100 for it.

I'll put a few bucks into it, make sure it's working and cleaned up and just keep it.

You mean the manufacturer's name in gold?

Yes, if you look closely at the pic that I posted, you can see that logo.

Most of the Decals I've seen are in gold, even when they're just the dealer's name
A higher end machine might have had all of the hardware gold plated, but I'm not
sure if M&R made a machine with that option.

I will have to look closer to see if it is just the decal or actual leafing. I quickly glanced at it when taking the picture.

If I can make a suggestion..... all Canadian collectors should try and get a copy of "Roll Back The Years" by Edward Moogk (1975). For it's time, the book gives a great insight into the Canadian Gramophone/ Phonograph industry.

You could try our national music archive in Ottawa to see if any copies are available. However, I doubt it.
The book also came with a paper record (to be played on a modern turntable) containing some of the earliest Canadian recordings still playable.

That almost looks like Michael's Playertone.
More Better pictures would help in your ID quest.

WOW!!!....that was a great price. Did it come with the record..??. There were two different records made. However, only one was issued with the book. You will notice the last page contains the record contents.
