It never ceases to amaze me that sellers will offer their items on eBay with no shipping available. Just last week an expensive phonograph sold on eBay for $1,000 less than I would have bid, but the seller said "No shipping". I had contacted him and asked him that if I won if he could take it to a local UPS Store on my behalf, and he said "no, I am too busy for that".
Another gripe of mine is when the seller has paragraph after paragraph of Terms & Conditions, which seem to substitute for a valid description.
Such attitudes (and laziness) can severely distort a final price.

How true. Whilst shipping a rare and valuable outside horn machine requires great care and effort, many UK sellers will not even post a portable within the UK.

By not offering postage they immediately restrict their potential market to those willing and able to collect in person, and then they wonder why similar machines which have been posted achieve higher prices.

The winning bid was £1810, reflecting the work required but probably still in excess of the seller's expectations.
