Nick you left off the charming Victor 0!
My wish list was always the Victor III and V and Victrola XIV in oak and an Edison Standard D. Have them all now only took 35 years. Now enjoy ferreting out pre WWII records at thrifts and garage sales.

Oh my goodness! How could I ever forget the Victor 0!

Yes that's another machine on my list sorry I forgot to put on my list.
Machines that were on my list that I now own are Edison Triumph, Columbia graphophone AT, Edison C-250/C-19. I'm 13 and I never thought I'd stumble across an Edison Triumph at the local flea market! I share a booth with another collector and we both sell phonographs. And yes, I've sold several phonographs that were mine that I restored myself and that's how I can afford the machines I want. I paid $450 for the Triumph and it came with a morning glory horn and a bunch of cylinders and that was less then a month ago when I found it. I also found the Edison C-19 at the flea market about 6 months ago and I paid $175 for it.

A 13 year old collector? Now this is what our hobby needs more of. Young energetic phonograph enthusiast to keep these amazing machines in good homes for generations to come.

My issue is not so much finding as affording. When the budget permits, I want a really nice Amberola 1A.

Nice Edison Standard! Is that a standard speaker reproducer or just the automatic B?

Hi Nick,
The Srandard 2-Clip Suitcase came with an Automatic Reproducer. I have extra Standard Speakers and could put one in it, but I will probably just leave it the way I got it.

My current want list includes:
- Edison Opera
Victor VI with Mahogany Speartip Horn
VTLA with Circassian Walnut or Gunmetal Oak Finish
Of course, when I find one of these (and can afford it) it will be replaced with something else.

Very nice machine! My Standard was 12 away from yours off the assembly line. I have a Standard Speaker on it...

I have a Standard squarebox No 489 which does not have a gearcover as I would expect.
Yours, No 283 does have one. I have seen machines in the four thousands without the cover. Whilst I can understand machines closely numbered not being a straight changeover from without to with, does anyone have an explanation for the sheer randomness?
