I'm not sure which would be considered more desirable. The Dance is much rarer but has some design issues. The limit pin has very little space to maneuver within the loop which can cause skipping, especially if the disc is not stamped dead center. The limit pin needs to ride closer to the body of the reproducer so any record that's not perfectly flat can push the pin into the body and damage the record. Some of the thicker records can't be played at all without raising up the whole horn assembly but if you do that, the thinner records won't play. This is most easily solved by laying an extra turntable felt on the platter.

With the Edisonic these problems are largely, but not completely done away with. The Standard reproducer never had any of these problems and will play even fairly warped or off center stamped discs without issue.

For almost all purposes I'm happy to use the Standard. The others are very rarely used.

Did the Dance also come in the "gunmetal" finish?

This advert would imply the Dance also came in gun metal (because of the Baby Council only offered in that finish as far as I know). I've never seen a Dance in that finish though.

The same advert would imply that you change between the Standard and Dance reproducer, depending on the recording you've selected. Not possible without aforementioned adjustments to the mechanism!

Okay so the adverts were a little ahead of reality in 1926!

The Youtube video was interesting!
Here are a couple pictures of a gunmetal Dance Reproducer that came with my Baby Console. It had also been fitted with the long-play attachment and accessories.
The stylus was cushioned for these counter-top pictures!

Same here. I have both the Dance and Edisonic, and while they are somewhat louder, that increased volume comes at the expense of the record. The standard reproducer does just fine.
