Nat, not too sure what my two "hot-air" machine's have to do with the UK....???. After all, I live very close to you up here in Canada.... .
All part of the Empire - at least as far as gramophones go!

I have a ranch in BC - summers only now, but I love the area just north of Princeton. y cabin is stuffed with phonographs (see my avatar).
Nice pics. We were certainly part of the Empire in the day of these Gramophones. Although, Berliner did his own thing here. He was not importing machines or records into Canada from the UK.
He did however in the beginning (1900) use stampers from the US and the UK to start off his record plant on Aquaduct St. in Montreal.

However, since the hot-air machines are Swiss... :?...

That looks like a British built Salon Decca in oak, a long way from home.

Exactly what it is - and very good sound, too: the only machine I've found that sounds just as good with acoustic and electric recordings. Underpowered, though: plays on 12".

It was a local find - a garage sale just down the street, for $50!

Never heard back...

Maybe the country shut down for the winter?
Don't worry, I know who these two dealers are you're referring to and you should never expect the courtesy of a response from either of them! I gave up years ago. At least one of them now relies on the power of telepathy to sell machines. How else can these strange website updates be explained? I think it works like this: you send a mental image of a machine you would like to own to the dealer in question using nothing other than your pure thoughts. He then buys something entirely different and mentally projects an image of the latest acquisition to you which you accordingly reject. He then adds a real photograph of that machine to his website and lists it as "Sold".

LOL!

Unfortunately the time difference is such that I don't feel motivated to wake up really early and call them on the phone so I can spend several thousand pounds. Email is incredibly convenient when trying to deal across the Atlantic.

...while we in the US have only gratitude for another George (III, that is) for his intransigent German stubborness. Where would we be without him? :P
