Curt, I would very much like to see (John may also) the "several pics" you have seen of this model...other than the past Ebay UK listing from November that John had previously mentioned.
Could you please post them for us..??

One was the UK eBay listing and the other was on Christie's website, but no longer shows up... It seems like there was also another, but can't remember where I saw it...

What a shame. The pics could have helped John get a much better idea how the correct reproducer looks..

.
However, the term "capstan" (a better word for the crank) is mentioned in the description and therefore reconfirms being correct...

Heh, it was sold 23 years ago so I'm not surprised Christies don't still have the photo link!

I have owned several music boxes with this "Ship's Wheel" crank, each of which was made in France, close to the St. Croix area where BHA, Paiilard and others did business. One was a "Universelle" (a strange cylinder music box utilizing interchangeable sleeves) and the other was a musical bicycle-race machine. Most music boxes post-1885 had many common parts and it was not unusual for some of the makers to branch out into phonographs. Like with comtoise clocks, many farmers made common parts in their small workshops during the winters, acting as subcontractors to the bigger companies.

Actually Vince, the pics you show are of a Britannia type A....

It has now been discovered that this model was indeed made by Thorens for B.H.A. to export
Here is what the reproducer & recorder look like.
I love learning new stuff...

.
John has been PM'ed.

What do I know?
It was advertised as a Thorens 'Royal' from the collection of Don and Shirley Sauvey.
