I know that feeling. I'll never forget a 9-hour round trip I did once for an HMV 194, only to be told when I arrived that it had been sold to someone else after I had agreed to a sale with the seller...
Sincerely,

I had a guy do that to me one time over a phonograph. After I drove 3 hours to get there I could see his garage door was open and he had a '49 Chevy that was missing a bunch of parts. Before he told me the phonograph was sold between when I left and when got there, I told him that my brother and I was actually junking one out and I had a whole bunch of the parts I could see were missing on his car and maybe we could work out a trade. Ha! He about crapped his pants when he had to explain he sold it an hour earlier and was hoping to be gone from the house by the time I showed up. I just walked over to my car and got ready to leave. He asked me then if there would be any way he could buy any of that stuff from me as he really needed it badly. I told him I wasn't sure when I was going to be home and left. Piece of crap guy anyway.
