If it is a telescoping arm (and it looks to be), it would be a triple head reproducer with the Edison stylus, the arm has to extend to play diamond discs. These reproducers were never gold-plated, so the one posted from the ad above would be correct.

Cliff, Very nice find. Yes it came with the Ultona reproducer. The model 35 replaced the model or as Brunswick called it "style 350" Here are pictures of it in a catalog but I didn't find any dates listed.

Seems this model originally came with an electric motor. That's why there is an extrior plug in and cord inside. Wonder how this motor got in there? Could Brunswick have offered an option for a spring motor? This is certainly a deluxe spring motor and the crank hole and escutcheon appear to be original...

The seller does not want to ship. Bummer. The tone arm is in Windsor, Ontario. Only about 2500 miles from me.

UPDATE: The seller called me and is going to find out the cost to ship to Castle Rock. Cool!

The seller in Ontario has agreed to ship the tone arm with the Ultona reproducer. Should be here in aboot 4 business days.

Here are some pictures after the cabinet was cleaned up a bit.

The sides and front are convex, bowed out. The grill is also. Very elegant!

Is there any way to know what grill cloth would be original/appropriate for this machine? I was informed the current grill cloth is made from a carpet non-skid pad. Thanks! Cliff

I'm going to go out on a limb here about the grille-cloth.


I have two "regular" Brunswwick uprights ( non- Art model), a 117 in Golden Oak, and a similar machine in dark mahogany.

The mahogany machine has what looks to be original grille-cloth: a black, square-weave chintz, slightly finer mesh than insect screening, but still an open weave. Very square weave, no "pattern" or design to it.

The Golden oak machine is missing its grille cloth, and is also in storage, but I think I remember seeing shreds of similar black chintz around the edges of the grille.


If the black is too much black for such a dark machine, you might consider a gold or bronze silk, again in tight square weave, w/o pattern or design.

I have a C-19 Diamond Disc in red-ish-brown mahogany that still has this original fabric.

I don't think this would look inappropriate in your 350 Brunswick.

Certainly any of the above would be better than rubber carpet-backing...


If you take the carpet-padding away from the back of the grille, and look closely, you might find traces of the original grille-cloth still glued-down around the edges. This is the case with my Oak 117, and an oak C-19 Diamond Disc that I have.


The challenging part will be finding the fabric.

The grill cloth on my dark/mahogany Brunswick 117 is a golden color, with some sheen to it. The darker protected part would be more correct as far as color.
