If you're still shopping, there's a nice late XVI on Buffalo Craigslist for $100 - check down in the Yankee Trader Dept.
I got a nice XIV from Buffalo last summer.

This is the machine I just bought. It came with a gold improved concert reproducer.

Very nice ! (And now the questions !

)
> Is there a letter suffix after the serial #, and if so, what is it ?
> Could you post photos of: brake, speed control, needle-cups, motorboard with platter removed, machine with all doors open ?
I find the crank ( "Winding key" ) placement interesting - this one looks like it is towards the front of the machine... I have an L-door suffix C ( re-struck over B ), from 1909, and the crank is half-way back. When I see a crank that is not in the middle of the side, it makes me think that an early-style motor was employed ( pre WW-I ).
I am also curious about it wearing an "Improved Concert" sound=box... my 1909 has a gold-plated Exhibition, with serial number and round hole in the needle-chuck. What type hole is in the needle chuck of your Improved Concert - round or triangular ?
It looks like it is in very nice condition.

That's a beaut, clone! There's something majestic about the late XVIs, with their massive bulk and shapely lines. Hope you'll enjoy it for many years to come!
