I know it, and I plan on picking up a few blanks at Union. This stuff is just so cheap though. I have seen/heard decent black wax recordings but as you said it wasn't made for that, which no doubt is at least part of the problem. The skipping I just don't understand. It should either skip through the whole record or not through any of it...

The Columbia brown wax is the best in my opinion for shaving and recording. They seem to be softer. I know they are much easier to shave than the Edison brown wax.
