Ron, I agree completely. Union has gradually become less and less a buying trip for me, but more and more an opportunity to see old friends, make new ones, and put together some worthwhile endeavors. As I mentioned to young Nick at dinner Friday night, "The benefits of attending Union are not always immediate." :)

I too look forward to next year!

You guys are right. The thing I enjoied most about Union was meeting a bunch of great people and hearing their stories. I didn't come to Union prepared to buy anything but to just meet people. George and Tim signed my copy of discovering antique phonographs and Howard Hazelcorn himself bought me a copy of his book (Hazelcorn's guide to the Columbia cylinder Graphophone) and signed it for me! Can't wait for Union next year!

I too learned something since returning home from Union. One of my other purchases was a 12" Marconi Record in the original sleeve. I knew I had a couple of 10" Marconis in sleeves, and I might have had a 12" but certainly not in a sleeve. Once home, I filed the 12" Marconi in a cabinet...joining two other 12" examples...both with sleeves... :oops:

Am I really that feeble-minded? :lol:
