I use the small feather dusters also. But to clean one right, it takes too much time.

I keep my machines closed or the covers on until I'm ready to use them. I use a portable vacuum cleaner with a very soft hose brush to run over the external horns, then wipe any dust remnant with a soft cloth.

Being a dust collector also, I just display the dust on my phonographs---kills 2 birds with one stone. Ha Ha. On a serious note---when I purchased my music box from Marty and Elise Roegnik---when they lived in Conn., I asked how do you clean all these machines---just dust them off was the reply. Truly enjoyed meeting them.

I already mentioned how I clean my phonograph collection. My car collection is a different story. I keep them preserved with a protective coating of dirt.
