IMO, you've got a bicycle item there.

I disagree. Although the box appears homemade, the emblem resembles a Victor Victrola trademark.

I second that: doesn't that "Victor" occur on the early "dog" patent plates?

Regardless of the logo, certainly looks like the purpose of this little box was to offer a convenient way to both store new needles and to dispose of the used needles. there is two compartments under the split sliding lids.
