I moved the sapphire stylus to the correct location in the needle box and it will stay there since I have a Pathé machine that I use for all vertical cut records.
I'm planning to send the motor to George Vollema to have the spring fixed as soon as I can get the long steel extension rod that goes through the cabinet behind the record storage parts area and screws onto the motor's brass winding rod to unscrew. I can't get the motor out of the cabinet with this rod screwed onto it and it is either screwed on very tight, or corroded on, or whatever. I tried penetrating oil and now might try removing a record storage vertical wood board so I can get my hand in there to remove a grommet that's supporting the steel rod and restricting it's sideways movement. That might provide enough wiggle room to get the motor out with the rod still attached.
