I once sold a phonograph for about $4,000 to a gentleman who lived far away in the Northeast. He asked if I could hold it until his brother could stop by and pick it up, as he would be travelling north soon. I said sure, no problem.
Well, his brother came by, took one look at the machine, and stated "my brother must have lost his mind, I wouldn't pay $100 for a stupid antique phonograph that can't even be plugged in".
There you have it, one man's treasure is another's trash.
