Ok, I live in Eugene Oregon, most of the phonographs are up in the Portland area, not that I mind going up there.
There is a local collector who has a Edison diamond disk machine, don't know much about it, other then it has a extra "adapter" head to play the Victor and RCA type records. He said he paid $450 for it and that is all he wants back for it, as he is retiring and needs to downsize. $450 maybe to steep for us though with kids in first year of collage! (and me too!)

What model Diamond Disc machine is it? And what condition is it in? Does it run and play well? Is the finish good? Is the grille cloth intact?

There are a few rare high-end DD machines that are worth that, or multiples of that, but it is probably too high for a run-of-the mill DD machine, especially if it is in average or less condition.

That it comes with a lateral record play adopter is a plus.

I'm in Albany, OR so we are nearly neighbors. I noticed a VV-XI in Eugene craigslist for $150 but it's missing the reproducer which is around a $50 to $75 part. The seller should be flexible of price considering the missing part. In its time, the XI was the most popular upright Victrola. It might be common but it has classic Victrola good looks. Jerry Blais

Virtually any Diamond Disc machine will run like a top and the extra lateral reproducer is a plus. Whether it's worth $450 depends on model and condition, but a bit on the high side for most models even when you factor in the extra lateral reproducer.

I have always loved the 405. Is it a Orthophonic? If you could somehow pick it up, I have a W-19 I would give you. And it doesn't need any work. It is a nice machine. Here is the machine.
