If you have a brass head hammer, you can hit it hard as you want. The brass will move before the metal.

Keep in mind as well what's actually absorbing much of the shock, the area at the bottom of the spindle that's part of the motor frame itself, you don't want to crack or damage that.

Aman to that. This is why I only collect Edison machines. Victors are to complicated for my small brain. :lol:
