I was in and out of phonographs many times. I never sold anything as a result probably because I was to lazy. It will be with you thoughout your life and the older you get, it may become more of an important past time. You will also have corrections in your collecting as interests change. Consider your last move a correction.
Alex - Steve's situation above is almost identical to how I would have described my experience with collecting phonographs. In fact, I just entered a phase where my entire collection is in storage for an unknown amount of time. Likely several to many years. I do continue to pick up phono related items but at a slower pace these days. Eventually it will all come back out and it will be like Christmas morning all over. Cant wait!

Hello Alex and a big welcome back.

Life at your age is so full of wonderful opportunities to identify, grasp, experience and progress that it would be disappointing if you only had a one track mind ! Most of us have many different obsessions although, by definition, it is not always possible to focus on all of them all of the time. In many ways the diversity keeps the mind stimulated and the vital interest alive. The important thing is to have passions---whatever the subject---and an intense reason for getting up in the morning. There will always be opportunities again to find what you have temporarily lost and the satisfaction of knowing what you really want will be the greater for the experience. Happy New Year ! All best wishes, Graham.
