Today Pablo Helguera and I recorded Aleesta Thorne, who told the Apache version of Creation, and sang a Sacred song. This cylinder will be included in a permanent installation at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. This very special collection contains the voice of the last person to speak the EYAK Native American Language, Marie Smith Jones Her native name in Eyak is Udach' Kuqax*a'a'ch (A sound that Calls People from Afar) I still think the Edison Phonograph is the best way to preserve voices for future generations.
