I think that even $3000 is way too much these days, especially if you hope to resell it. The photo does make it look refinished. If you say not then it must be so. However, the horn looks like it's had a hole nearly punched through. Similar examples at recent Stanton's auctions have brought considerably less than $3K. Closer to $2K. As others have stated, the record cabinet is a much lesser consideration, pricewise. Maybe $350 - $450 for the cabinet.

I think you answered your own question. $3500 is too much if your goal is to resell quickly. I don't believe that you should always pay at a price point that resale is easy when you are buying for your own collection. It's very difficult to build a nice collection strictly on bargains. I don't think that $3500 is too much for someone that intends to put a $3000 Vic V and a $500 Pooley cabinet in their collection. Don't get me wrong, I love a bargain just like anyone but some times you step up to the plate to make a purchase you really want. Jerry BlaisI was going to buy this to sell not to keep.
