Here is my contribution. It came with my Edison Jacobean and is very well made. There are no manufacturers or advertizing markings on it and I have never seen a similar one. Anybody know anything about it?

I've actually got the same thing. I forget what machine I found it in, but I think it was an edison too.

I'm sure when I first joined Dan's old board, there was an ebay auction posted for an Edison machine with record racks missing, and in the bottom was one of these brushes. If I remember correctly, Edisonic said they were indeed an Edison Diamond Disc brush, and that he'd seen them advertised somewhere along the line??
I may be wrong though. 3 yrs is a long time

Your oxidised bronze duster is very unusual. I can't say I've seen one anything like that before.
It would be interesting to know who produced them.

Shane I started this thread with the intent of posting some of the dusters I brought, or thought I brought back from my recent trip to the US. These were ones I've had a long time, (sorry no European ones) not new acquisitions.

Unfortunately searching through my luggage they did not turn up so I must not have packed them afterall. Hopefully they will turn up back in Minnesota in the mess of my phono room thier on my next visit.

One of my favorites, is one of those round maroon Edison dusters made to look like an Edison Re-Creation label. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about. Anyone have one they could post?

PS: I also have the oxidised bronze one. I bought it separately but it looks great with my A150 diamond disc machine.

Here are a few dusters from our collection. An Edison Bell, a Sonora (leather tops), a bronze colored Columbia, a combination duster and needle tin from Gimbels and two celluloid tops and a wooden example.

Here's a "canajan' one from Layton Brothers in Montreal. This firm also sold Edison diamond disc machines so I'm not entirely clear how they pulled that off without raising the wrath of the Berliner Gram-O-Phone Company.

Here is one I found in an a CC-32 Diamond Disc I bought last week. Didn't see any Edison's like this on this thread but I'm sure they are everywhere. It's tough to see the impression in the leather but here it is...

Dont be so sure they're everywhere I cant say I've ever seen one before. I have seen a few of the normal round dusters with a picture of the DD label, and those are considered rare & sell for more than just about any other duster.

Really!? I don't know anything about record dusters. I just thought this one would be common because of the amount of Diamond Discs and Edison machines made. I wonder what this is worth. I guess I will stop using it to clean dirty records now!

Come to think of it, that's not the only thing I found in that CC-32. There was a needle with the diamond tip for playing DD's on regular machines too. I haven't been able to find many of those either. Maybe I should go give it another good check to see what else may be hidden in it!

Glad I posted my Edison Duster! I went and checked the inside of the CC-32 cabinet really well and found these treasures. An Edison oil bottle, a unopened pack of steel needles and a Columbia stamp. Don't know too much about any of it but it was fun to find!
