This thread may be in the wrong location but it sure is a valuable thread. The Victor Junior usually (Did you notice that I've left wiggle room for an Exhibition with a special flange?) is found with a unique reproducer specifically for that particular model. The Exhibition Junior reproducer is slightly smaller than the normal Exhibition and mine came on a Victor R. The Exhibition Junior is a long throat reproducer and was not intended for the Victor Junior. Jerry Blais

In the 1907 catalog of Repair Parts for Victor Talking Machines we find the specific flange that is on the Exhibition reproducer on the left side of the first picture in this listing. I've attached both pages from this catalog listing parts for the Exhibition reproducer. Part E21 is the part in question, and it is listed as "Adaptor for use on Victor Jr."

Very interesting information Shawn, I don't remember seeing this before. I find the lever needle bar offering interesting also.

Question, is this from a Victor parts catalog or from a after market company offering parts for the Exhibition reproducer.

Jerry, thanks for the correction about the Exhibition Jr NOT going on the Victor Jr. machine.

I am on travel this week. When I get back I will start a new thread in the proper category and provide some pictures of the Victor Jr.

As promised, some photos. The machine was quite dirty, particularly a lot of old black grease under the platter. All I've done is lightly clean the surface, mostly taking dust and some of the grease off. At the auction, I knew that it had the "wrong" reproducer on it, and I stopped bidding early on. I did not want to go chasing after yet another elusive part no matter how nice or inexpensive the machine might be. Not sure why, but at the last moment I raised my hand; no other bid was placed. When I got the machine home and examined the reproducer I wasn't sure what I had. I did a quick Internet search, discovered a few things, then decided to post some pictures of the sound box on the Forum. Surely someone in the Forum must know something. And surely there must be at least one individual who would delight in catching any error I might make and seize the opportunity to point it out. (Ha!) You will see three shots of the machine. I have had the bottom off. It's tight inside, tighter than a front-wheel drive. Not much room. And there are two photos of the flange and the crank. The drawings in the 1907 parts catalog are quite accurate. On the machine that is not the original reproducer that came with it. I removed the back flange from the original soundbox and placed it on an Exhibition that I had rebuilt. As for the original soundbox, which in truth looks to have been with the machine since the beginning (well, shortly after the Big Bang), I have done nothing to it.

I missed one of the photos. Just don't want to give the opportunity for anyone to point this out.

The cabinet could probably stand a bit more cleaning with a gentle product like Goop or GoJo (non-pumiced of course). No need to put it on the decal. Just do a side at a time, and let it sit for about a minute before wiping it off with a rag. I think you'll see a nice improvement. You can use it on the horn too.
