Somewhat off topic, but when my father was seconded to the Pakistan government in 1960/61 he visited a workshop turning out copy Lee-Enfield rifles, and they were copies in every sense of the word. Every one bore the same serial number!

All of a piece with those dreadful BSA and Royal Enfield motorcycle copies. Apparently their machine tools and micrometers have not survived the tropical monsoons entirely well........
