Beautiful machine with GREAT sound!

Nothing "tickles" me more than a demonstration disc. Love'em!
The Beam of Light system didn't last long and I wonder why? They really pushed it...but briefly.

I dug into the " archives" here and found this ad from November 1941. I think I have another ad which features a view of the turntable. To be continued.

My understanding was they discontinued the Beam of Light because it was very unreliable and needed constant tuning and adjusting to sound good. I suspect the photocell would have been the culprit. The photocell I have installed is very forgiving and produces good output even if some of the setup variables are not perfect.

It also might have had something to do with manufacturing switching to war work in 1943. Before this they were producing the Beam of Light, wireless record players and The Mystery Control. When they switched back to radios the lineup was less than exciting.



Blain, my next project is the Chicken coop, probably won't be too fancy and won't require any French polishing.
