I make front sights for AR 15 and M 16 rifles and .0005 at work is all the adjustment on my machine I can make, and this little amount make a big difference. It seems that the kind of wire, and hardness size certainly has an effect on most reproducers Diamond Discs, Diamond B. So certainly on the model M. Congratulations on solving the problem, and sharing..

Thank you Rich, Jim and Shawn for your gracious comments. The Forum here provides an excellent means to share and to help others who may be experiencing a similar issue or are in the same situation. For me, sound is an
incredibly important aspect of a phonograph or any musical device for that matter. Without excellent sound, even the most rare and interesting music machine is simply another object to capture only the eye. There's nothing quite like the pure, beautiful sound from a phonograph or music box.
