Could have been Durium "Hit of the Week" or something similar.

Thought they looked too big for Hit of the Weeks, but yeah perhaps. Lady doesn't look Depression era to me either. But I'm no expert in ladies hairstyles.

Well, It happened again, nice packing job----but out of the 7 records, the only one broken was the one that was wanted---the rest were triples and quadruples.

Ever since you posted this thread, I have been somewhat nervous. I bought two rare puzzle records from a record guy in England and since he seemed knowledgeable, I forgot to ask him how he was going to send them. Then I re-read the listing and somewhere down the line he mentioned sending them in a pizza type box. Since they had already shipped, I figured there was no point in confirming this... just wait and see. I received them both yesterday in excellent condition and he had sandwiched them between cardboard and packed it in an oversized box full of peanuts... what a relief. :D

Another one lost to history today. I had ordered a pristine copy of Glenn Miller's American Patrol. The seller put it in between 2 pieces of bubblewrap and then put it loosely into a box. As you can guess, one of my favorite wartime recordings arrived looking as if it had been dropped from a B-17.

Sorry to hear that---What hurts, like you said is not the money but the loss of a piece of recorded history and it's listening enjoyment. Yes, most records can be replaced---but if it had been given more respect for the true value of recorded sound, maybe packing would of been a higher priority.
