Were genuine Bettini products really made with pot metal? All those that I've seen (only in pictures, of course) looked made of very high quality metal with a very thick plating of chrome (nickel?). I really didn't expect them to have cheap parts anywhere! :shock:

Someone recognised it for what it was - sold for £2,000 plus premium. (the action estimate of £80-£120 was not very close......... )

Thanks very much for the contact details, received 2 better pics of the reproducer, it is cracking in places and the soundbox piece seems to be a bit deformed changing to slightly oval. Where the screw of the counterweight joins, it already has been repaired.

As a set though quite a nice assembly. Any idea what it sold for?

The pot metal reproducers were not "genuine" Bettini products, but were made under license by others, Obviously they wanted to cut costs as much as possible.
