Humf, A lot of votes---saying cut. But look what Ken did with that Rivoli cabinet--a piece of art. You can get the missing things and if you repair it fine---if not at least you have it for the next collector of early mechanical sound. Tackle the problem and do the right thing-----restore it as it should be.----just my opinion, I think you would feel better about completing it anyway.

That might be true, IF it were a desirable or valuable machine, but this project would cost more in time and money than the machine is worth. When I first started restoring machines I spent a lot of time on an H-19 feeling that it deserved to be restored. It was a good learning experience, but it was still an H-19 that no one wanted... BUT it was now in great condition.

I'm going to leave it along for a while - I may find a cabinet one day missing the grille and lid but with nice legs (like my wife)

You might find an artificial leg in a beaver dam, like the guy in Wisconsin... it would certainly make an interesting cabinet (in place of the orange bucket)...

You could find a woodworker who could make you a new leg for your A-100 cabinet. You could bring it to him to give him an idea how the other legs look.Just a thought!

edisonplayer.BTW;$25 was a GREAT price for it to begin with!

I like the idea posted above. Find a person who can help make a new leg for it.

It needs a lot more than just one leg (SEE THE PHOTO OF A COMPLETE A-100) - the other three legs have been cut down right to where the lower shelf used to be - that means 4 new legs and a new lower shelf. Like others stated,, the machine is just not worth that much effort. But I will wait and maybe one day find a decent cabinet or part the machine out which I prefer not to do.
