Is this from the early AH with the off-center crank? If so, be very careful with this gear. I don't know of any reproductions of these gears. Yes, I would use a light spritz of WD40, and a soft toothbrush. Use a light hand for this.

No, not that first model, but not the late AH either. This is for a front-mount machine. I will give it a quick shot of WD-40. I'll take a picture later. Thanks.

Some pictures. The teeth of the wheel are pretty good. The pinion is brass and needs a bit more cleaning. I don't want to push it too far with the fiber wheel, but there it is much cleaner now, especially the teeth.
