Rudy Vallee was popular way back then, mostly to the ladies. Later in his life, he lived on the mountain ridge at the south side of the San Fernando Valley, CA, of which he apparently had a great view of. He was involved in a movement to change the name of the street leading to his property to "Rue De Valle"! I think the LA city council denied the request. There does exist a street in Baldwin Park named "S Rue de Vallee St"!
