i would agree. Even the crate is in amazingly good condition.

Even the gold silk grille cloth hasn't started to "go greenish" !


If it weren't on the wrong side of the country, I would grab this in a heart-beat !


I hope whoever gets it, keeps that machine away from the sunlight !

Was there any excelsior or other padding inside the crates ?

Not any that I'm aware. There was a network of wooden frames, paper shims, at least one wood board under the horn, and lots of twine (string) for at least some other models that I've noted in different unpacking instructions.

I agree. That is something you will find very rarely and is a real piece of history. I would glad pay to have that combo even if it is a Chippendale.

I contacted the seller to ask a few questions and was kindly sent these photos. The machine did indeed come never previously unwrapped in that crate. The seller's cousin purchased it that way some years back, unpacked it and used it.

There is unfortately no more paper work than you see in the pictures but the matching serial numbers are evidenced.

It's a real shame the paperwork was lost. I'd love to have been able to examine the crate and machine packing materials. Those types of lost artifacts are for me, very interesting. Maybe whomever buys this will be gracious enough to post some detailed images of the C 19 throughout, and detailed interior/exterior images of the crate. It could be that the packing items are still inside?

Now that is a nice phonograph! Pristine and is a good price for that condition. Personally, I am not into the crate. I would prefer the phonograph. The gold reproducer looks pristine. I like the cabinet and how it shines, it is essentially a new phonograph. It must have been stored in ideal conditions, if it were stored in my area near Chicago, the cold and dampness would have taken its toll.
