This is no more of a "scam" than guys selling copper water-pipe fittings as horn connectors. Does anyone gripe about them?

I wasn't griping. I simply asked for the opinions of more educated hobbyists on the
actually functionality of a cheap hardware store spring. I'm allowed to do that aren't I?
