As I'm sure you know, George, the Victrola Doctor, will be able to help you with the correct tone arm since he has a huge stock of parts. BTW, he'll probably have the correct door knobs too.

I wish I could provide you with a picture of the correct part, but like your machine, mine also came with the wrong arm. I bought my machine as a complete working Victrola, but soon discovered that not all of my records would play on my Consolette. The tone arm would skip & stick on certain 78s. Why? After getting help here on this board, I found out my back bracket was too tall. Then after that new part arrived I discovered the tone arm was too big. By then the springs needed a good cleaning too since they were thumping. Springs are easy to clean (cleaned the Colony springs), & most of you guys wouldn't have given up, but since I'm not mechanically inclined & most importantly I was completely frustrated I did. :x I sold my Consolette (& 2 other machines) this spring to a person here in my town.

The Colony is a cute machine and not easy to come by Sharon. Nice find! To keep this on topic, I just got a really nice Consolette yesterday, one of five machines I picked up, like I needed them... :?

Edison phonographs,

Welcome aboard, You've got a great little Orthophonic there. I don't have a Consolette (4-3), But I've heard a few and they are wonderful machines. It's hard to tell form the photos, but it looks like that Taper-Tube (tone-arm) might be too long. It seems to be mounted askew from it's proper position. With the arm unfolded and moved toward the center spindle does the needle chuck end up in front of the spindle, or nearly on top of it? Here's a shot a made a while ago showing the track of the tone-arm of my early Granada.

Regards,
John

P.S. Sharon-that is a beautiful Colony! :D
