My wife and i went. Bought a few fixer-uppers ( Edison A-250, B-19, a Victrola VV-VIII and a Brunswick table model.) Most machines needed work.

Might anyone be willing to share some more details?
I couldn't tell, was there a stack of Edison DD long plays? Were there any good cylinders (were they mostly in good shape) or had they been picked over? Who were the big buyers? ...

They have a 45 minute auction preview video up that I found interesting. There are phonographs scattered through out the video. But if you don't have as much time to waste as I did. Most of the phonographs are between the 21:45 to 36 minute mark. Lots of fixer uppers but some nice machines also.

It sure looks like some of the Edison lots went dirt cheap. An Edison Opera at $500? (Really?) Boxes of Edison records $10 and $20 and $30? Edison Triumph (needs reproducer) $250? Edison Standards $75, $125, $175? Edison A-250 $125?
Columbia Disc Graphophones with horns $325 - $500? Columbia AG $275?
Most of the Victors sold at this auction seem to have realized expected prices although a fancy Victor D with large brass bell horn for $1200 was obviously a pretty sweet deal for someone.
I did not attend the auction - however - I DID carefully review the video provided by the auction house prior to the auction (and paused it to examine some of the items the best I could in the video) in its entirety and, while many of the Edison and Columbia cylinder machines had their lids in place in the video (who knows why but a bad decision IMHO) it was pretty obvious that there WERE some decent machines there.
The Edison Opera alone, even with the faults that could be seen in the video was surely a steal of a deal at $500.
I'm sure there were some big smiles from winning bidders at this auction.
Good for them!
