If you really decide to sell this, I may know a buyer who would love to add it to his WW-1, WW-2 collection.

Well I got it working! Put her up for sale on ebay since I have no idea what something like this is worth with the crate...let the free market decide...and hopefully help pay for this wedding of mine. Gosh this thing is cool.

It's listed on Ebay? I did a search for "Edison Army Navy" and nothing. I hope the free market can find it. ;)

Based on your eBay description, it sounds like you used the original spare spring to fix the motor after all and are now including as the "spare" the broken spring... maybe I'm wrong, if so you might want to clarify.

Starting the bidding at $750.00 is not exactly letting the free market determine its value.

You're right I do need to clarify: both the spring in the machine and the spare were broken. I replaced the machines spring with a new one.

Even free markets have controls in place lol. If it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell.

I think you should maybe contact a Army / Navy museum ?? Even if you donate to them it would be a rather large tax write off ?? Or the Edison Historic Site in West Orange New Jersey ??

The Edison National Historic Site already has a very nice original Edison Army and Navy. ;) The National World War One Museum in Kansas City, MO might be interested in this one, though, given the markings that it has.
