Now consider why the spear tip mahogany horn sold it much greater numbers than the small smooth mahogany horn. The larger spear tip horn could be used on Victors IV and VI as well as the rare Auxetophone and rare mahogany Victor Vs. Also, smooth horns were introduced much later than the larger wood horns so overall sales were smaller. The small mahogany horn was less versatile and was sold for a shorter period of time.

I believe this particular machine a terrific value. It is an uncommon model with an uncommon horn in uncommonly outstanding condition. When I purchased a similar machine years ago I considered it a great addition to my collection.

I'll echo the comments about the rarity of the machine with the smooth horn. I can also confirm that this phonograph is as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures since I sold it to Mike several years ago. Can't believe it's still for sale at this price.

Thanks for all the kind words. This machine has found a new home. And it's staying here in Canada.
