I was wondering the exact same thing, George. The family from whom I purchased this outfit were ancestors of the original owner. This is all that they had found and I was amazed and incredibly pleased that this much of the original outfit was kept together. My guess is that at some point long ago their great grandfather (the original owner) had upgraded this machine for 2/4 minute play with a standard size mandrel using the model J reproducer. Sadly, the drawer was apparently removed and discarded along the way along with the 2 minute Edison D reproducer. Hope I'm able to find them.
