I'm referring to the small arm that attaches to the cylindrical extension of the brake mechanism and throws the brake when the tone-arm hits it. My brake mechanism is okay, including the spring of the trigger, but lacks the little gold arm and the screw(?) that attaches it.

The cylindrical extension is 1" and the trigger is 3".

The P-1 portable that I have was given to me by the late,great Jerry Donnell.Mine doesn't have the correct gold plated tone arm,and I'd love to find the right one.Still,I treasure it!edisonplayer

Well, the tone arm on the P-1 wasn't gold-plated, but rather lacquered brass…

Plus, there seem to be a couple of variations in design on this model: the crank storage being either a hole with escutcheon, or a clip on the motor board; and the brake design (mine has the trigger arm much closer to the turntable - which, along with the height of the pivot, makes it impossible to play 12 inch records)...

I still am looking for the correct tone arm for my P-1.Perhaps I can find a similar one from another Prime portable.I gather that they made portables for other companies beside Edison.PS;Someone said that Prime also made some of the Silvertone portables for Sears.Perhaps one of those tone arms and supports would work for my P-1.edisonplayer
