Re: Morning Glory Horn Hanger Repair
Cleanliness is next to godliness when it comes to solder! can not over emphasize clean the metal for the joint! Second use a heat paste to minimize heat damage to the paint around the joint, some near the joint is going to burn. Third make yourself a paper pattern, cut it out of paper till you are happy then cut it out of metal. 4th proper soldering iron it needs heat to melt the solder a iron made for electronics is not going to work. 5th pre-tin your part and not touch the tinned sections not easy. 6th have a good clamp ready for when you go to solder it, clamp one side solder the other. Better to work all the bugs out before you try to solder it. Last but not least after soldering use warm to hot water with a little baking soda and a old toothbrush to clean up the flux (rosin or acid based) a little touch up paint and it will be hardly noticeable! Good luck! tt

Re: Morning Glory Horn Hanger Repair
Lacking the tools (and skills) to fabricate a bracket, I found something suitable at Hobby Lobby. With a little bending, and prep of the metal surfaces, I attached it with JB Weld. I want to replace the chain/hook, but Here's the result.
Thanks for all the help.

I hope that you give it a good test pull before hanging it. At least your solution is reversible if you decide to do something more traditional in the future. You generally cannot see the hanger when everything is assembled. Enjoy it.
