Interesting piece and somewhat based on Hepplewhite's design for a washstand. George Hepplewhite published his design guide sometime in the 1780's, if I recall correctly. This book has designs for various furniture forms that cabinetmakers used back then. I can't find a complete copy on the web with all pictures, but if you were to flip through that book you might find a closer match than the picture of the washstand that I posted. Note the bent leg and the stretcher used for the flowerpot (really to provide strength and support for the legs), similar to the phonograph.
