If the price on the Little Wonder is $295 and includes the little box with records, it's a steal. Buy it. If the wood horn is clean and around $600 buy it. You could make enough on the Little Wonder and oak horn to pay for the Fireside. Jerry Blais

I called the company handling the sale and asked why the Victor horn was not mentioned in the lineup. I was told a family member decided to keep it, so it won't be at the sale tomorrow.

I'd buy the Little Wonder if I thought I could flip it and make a profit, but with the market as soft as it seems to be these days, I'll have to pass on it. There's no guarantee I'll even get the Fireside, as this affair is going to be like Walmart on Black Friday. Doors to the estate open at 9 a.m. and it's first come, first served. I plan to be there when they open, but who's to say I'll even get dibs on the Edison? Frankly, I'd prefer a nice, old-fashioned auction over this tag sale stuff.

As someone who has played the game, arrival at opening time will be too late.

You are probably right about this setup, too. As a noob to tag sales, I asked the owner of the liquidation company how one could be guaranteed a particular item. He said they pass out numbers to people as they show up. Thus, if some go-getter lands there at 5 a.m. and is the first, he/she will be #1, and so forth. Doors open at 9 a.m., so will probably be a mob ready to storm the doors, ha. Nope, really don't like this process. But, as the sale is fairly close to me, I will go as much out of curiosity as anything. Nothing ventured/nothing gained, and frankly no great shakes if I walk away empty handed.

I once attended a tag sale where numbers were given out. The sale began at 10:00am. I arrived at 7:30, and was #19. Even so, it was well worth the trip (30 miles) and the wait. That was 34 years ago and I still have the machine, horns, and records I bought there that day.

Get there early! :)

I'd certainly be willing to help you make a few bucks on that Little Wonder machine if you get it and would ship...

Just throwing that out there if that helps...I've always wanted one of those and they're SMALL!

There was already a mob there when I got there, and both the Little Wonder and Edison phonos were being carried out by their new owner as I entered the building. You win some, you lose some!
