Actually, the hardware isn't nickel. It's some specialty finish designed to look like pewter, or something of that sort. It's something that's unique to this machine as far as I know.

Isn't it "antiqued silver" plating? If so, HMV used the same thing exactly on the late model 202 re-entrant. They certainly LOOK the same finish to me. HMV referred to it as "oxidised silver plating".

Victor did offer a finish that could have been called "antique silver" on some Period Victrolas, but the Gothic Victrolas had their own special finish that looked like hammered pewter.
