Sorry, but were you first to express interest?
Garret
Garret was the first to express interest, then Busy Bee sent a PM. He sent a PM but I don't know if he bought it. I have not received a PM from the seller yet. I think Garrett and Busy Bee would be in line before me. Marc.

A question regarding finish would not count as expressing interest.
Really??? "The order in which buyers will be considered in the event that there are multiple interested parties will be determined
by the order in which said parties publicly reply to the ad."

You forgot to quote the rest of the line: "Phrases such as "Sold", "PM Sent", or "Interested" are generally sufficient and shall be followed by a private message to the seller."
It's not uncommon for people with no interest in buying to be interested in knowing more about the machine. I believe this is what is know as "tire kicking". If you're interested in buying something, you should say so. I have updated the guidelines to be more specific so we can avoid further confusion.
10) The order in which buyers will be considered in the event that there are multiple interested parties will be determined by the order in which said parties publicly reply to the ad with either the word "sold" or "interested". The potential buyer should then follow up with the seller via a private message.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but isn't the proper/correct name for this machine the Amberola "1B" or "1-B"?
I was a bit confused by the title.

In his book, "Edison Cylinder Phonograph Companion", George Frow referred to the 2 different iterations of the Amberola I as "(A)-I", and "(B)-I". I've always wondered why, myself, as I don't know of any other Edison Phonograph being designated in this fashion. If someone has the answer to this seemingly unique designation, I'd love to hear.
Best,
Fran

It's probably to keep it consistent with the slightly later Amberolas which always put the model letter before the model number on the ID plate, like DX or BVI. As for the punctuation, I have no idea.

You're right, Kevin. I'm just being daft. The A/B/C 250 is an obvious example. I'm not sure why I couldn't see that.
Thanks,
Fran

Well, this went a bit further than I expected...

This machine is still available. All others are welcome to express interest at this time.

I have learned a lot about fellow forum members from these posts. Not all good. All I wanted to do was sell a decent machine. At least I can show I identified it correctly as a B1. Note the pic.

I stand corrected. Thank you for showing the serial plate. I wasn't sure what the right terminology for these machines was, and I am always happy to learn something new. These are quite nice machines and I hope it finds a good home!
