It is a phenomenal book and lends itself amazingly to a movie adaptation. In fact, it's my understanding that Leonardo DiCaprio had bought the movie rights. If you have not read the book, DO IT!!!

Read the book a few years ago, and was creeped out by some passages.
It would be interesting if the latest scanning technology were applied to Allen's recording. Did he mention what type of cylinder it was - Bell-Tainter, or Edison?
