I would say harvard. But no.1 did not have imprinted arms. I have 2 harvard no.1's. ( not as original as this one and looks exactly the same. My harvard no.3 has imprinted arms

All that aside. A VERY NICE OXFORD / HARVARD MACHINE. I would love to have those arms

In spite of the controversy... these Columbia clients are great workhorses for spinning platters, and they sound great with a rebuilt and properly adjusted reproducer. I've owned quite a few in the past and was very pleased with all.[/quote]

I think this was upgraded with different arms and a reproducer. I never saw one of these with a Harvard decal on the side. I have both the Oxford and the Harvard models. The Oxford has a fancy scroll decal on front of the case. The Harvard has a plain case or a decal(which I never saw before until now). Still a nice machine.

FellowCollector wrote:I presumed that this would generate some criticism which is welcome. I purchased this many years ago exactly as it is seen here (and in the video) from the original owner's family and have no reason to doubt its provenance as stated by the family. I simply thought there might be someone here on the Forum who may be interested in it exactly as I found it. Its components are completely original (99% confident) and as found and I'm happy to stand by that. If anyone is interested feel free to send a PM.

Doug- it's a great machine. Don't mind us- we are just geeking out. ;)

Doug, What is the patent date on the reproducer? I couldn't tell by the picture.

Doug,

None of this is criticism. It's some interesting conversation about a cool phonograph. We're all learning new things here. At the very least, it brings your ad back to the top!
