I created a template using pictures and ¼" MDF and just worked at working it until it worked.
The ¼" will fit in the slot in the door. After I had it shaped, I located the centers of all the tubes and drilled holes through the template. I attached the target shelf to the template with a few screws through the center holes, rough cut the shape of the shelf on band saw, then finished with a template bit in the router.
