Hello from a former native of Tampa.

At this point, I don’t think it’s a taboo subject, so I’ll try to explain it. Dan’s flagrant Terms of Service violations over at ProBoards finally caught up with him. Unfortunately, after they shut his board down, he continued his lying and malicious libel to the point where they shut us down so they didn’t have to hear it from him any more.
So basically, he directly killed two of the busiest discussion sites for antique phonographs.
Fortunately, I have web servers, and was able to get this up quickly here, although it still needs a bit of work.
Dan apparently is persisting in claiming that I ‘hacked’ his board, despite the threads on the ProBoards support forum that he started, and apparently there are people out there that are dumb or gullible enough to continue to believe him. He has harassed me for six or seven weeks now, and if anyone doubts it, I can link quite a lot of it online. The day that ProBoards closed the OTVMMB he had sent a threatening e-mail to my employer, and filled his blog with threats and ranting about things I have never done.
Thankfully, of the boards that were born of the crap over at the OTVMMB, we’re definitely the most trafficked and populated, and I know that John and I are very committed to bringing you guys the best board possible. Since I host this board myself, we have a lot more freedom than we did over at ProBoards, and you might be enjoying the lack of adverts.
Now if I could jut get time (hopefully this weekend!) to do something about the theme...

This reminds me of The Twilight Zone - Season 1, Episode 1: Where Is Everybody?
I had a hunch that Proboards would have to act just as they did. Their ToS document is:
"a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."
~ Bill Shakespeare ~ a Soliloquy from Macbeth
As Mel Brooks put it: "It's good to be the king!"
I had feared that outcome, shame on me for not being better prepared. If I owned a ProBoard now, I would make sure to back it up. It might not be fair but it is within their rights. Lesson learned. Old Will's words are most appropriate, thank you!

Regards,
John

I am very sorry, but I don't think a link to that site is appropriate here at this time. I would be more than happy to discuss it further with you privately if you'd like. I beg your forgiveness for editing your post, but this is something we feel strongly about here. The wounds are still raw.

John

"How dare you edit my post. Harumph!"
Just kidding. It was only to be informative, not inflammatory. Sorry 'bout that.
