Well, it is a comfort to see that these fellows know how a bow is really supposed to be held! In order to keep this thread from going too far off the phono topic, I've sent you a PM.

The photo looks as if the family doesn't have a lot of ready cash. What surprises me is that these men in rural West Virginia own a very nice Graphophone. I just wonder how they came to purchase what was very much a luxury item, and it's no wonder they seem so proud of it.
