Wow- That is an incredible case! It's this kind of stuff that keeps even us old guys in "the hunt"... It's twin just might be in my neighbors attic. :)
Great find....acquisition....purchase.....karma.... I don't care what it's called. It's amazing!

Thanks for the serial number, Jerry. That's a fairly early one, as I expected. Retailers weren't doing this sort of thing with Eagles for long.

Someone has added a mandrel tag to this example - but it did not have one originally.

Again - congratulations!

George ,
How early are you talking ? my 1898 Columbia BS coin-op has the same type of spring barrel and a mandrel tag ? I think the tag has different information than the later tag ? It probably doesn't have patent info on belt cover i'll bet!

Yes, yes, nice machine. I never knew such things existed. Glad it was posted.

Now, I decided to wade into the troubled waters. About half the replies managed to insert the word "find" somewhere in the text, sometimes in capital letters, thus defending Jerry and Jerry's choice of words against Mr. Hawes's comment. And the other half of the replies are simply commenting on the machine and how nice it is (it is nice). Nonetheless poor Mr. Hawes is correct. I will defend the underdog because he hasn't responded. If an item is well understood and resides in someone's collection, it has already been found and its significance understood. This doesn't change when the item changes hands. A "find" is a new discovery, something that has been hidden away, say, in an attic or barn and the owner doesn't know its significance. It comes too light when a knowledgeable collector "finds" it.

OK, I get it. Jerry (no offense) "found" this beautiful machine in someone else's collection. I think I'll go off to the Louvre and "find" the Mona Lisa. Well, I guess I won't win any popularity contest here.
